Sierra Designs Women's Deja Vu 20-Degree Recycled Sleeping Bag
Tested to the Highest Standards - Sierra Designs has always tested sleeping bags to make sure that our customers are warm and comfortable on their adventures. Now we’ve adopted the European Norm (EN) 13537 test process which provides a standardized comparison method for all sleeping bag brands so that it is easier for you to choose the right sleeping bag for your needs. The two temperature ratings listed are “Comfort” and “Lower Limit.” Comfort is defined as the temperature that a standard woman (60 kg / 132 lbs) will be comfortable at versus “Lower Limit” is the temperature that a standard man (80 kg / 176 lbs) will be comfortable at. EN 13537 confirms: Women sleep colder than men using the same sleeping bag in the same outside temperature. The best recommendation for the women is the Comfort Limit. The best recommendation for men is the Lower Limit.

About Women's-Specific Bags
Sierra Designs was the first company to recognize that sleeping bags should be designed differently for women. The average man is 6 feet tall, but the average woman is 5 feet 4 inches tall. In addition, both the body proportions and metabolic rates of men and women vary significantly. In response, Sierra sizes its women's bags smaller so that women are not carrying additional weight and don't have to heat up more air space in a larger bag. Sierra's women's sleeping bags are also designed with narrower shoulders, wider hips, and increased insulation in the torso and foot box. The company's first women's-specific bags, the Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley, were released in 1995.
